Vista’s Love for Our Community

Imelda Pines, coordinator for the Food Bank and Clothing Bank, spoke at our October Missions meeting. She awarded Vista with a plaque for our continuing support of the Food bank at Catalina Community Services.

Jan Bohe and the Creative Hands group were also were awarded a plaque of appreciation for the hundreds of garments they have made over the years and donated to the clothing bank at CCS.

Imelda is an enthusiastic addition to CCS and brings new ideas to our community. She reminded us that Canned Meats, Bags of Rice and Pasta, Cereals and Peanut Butter are especially needed. We gave over $400 last month to the Food Bank as well as a grocery basket of food!

Want to Volunteer?

Carol Smith, CCS volunteer coordinator, emailed that Drivers for Senior Meals Delivery are needed on a regular and on call basis. “On Call” would be when one of their regular drivers needs a day off. Food from various corporate donors such as Target, Starbucks, etc. or would have a set day that they would deliver meals to housebound persons.

If you are interested, please let me know or call Carol at CCS 825-0009. Just a reminder that the “Warm Winter” drive starts in December thru January 2013. We are collecting warm bedding and jackets and coats for the winter for the needy in our area. Clean, gently used items, as well as new are gladly accepted!

Thanks again for all your generosity in your food and money donations every first Sunday of the month.
